Day Camp

July 20 through 23 we worked in the 4 day English camp at the church, with 30 children ages 7 to 12 attending.   The schedule was from 9 AM to 6:30 PM.   Of the 30, only 3 were from our local congregation.  The others were from the English classes that Yang Hee and we teach.

We were greatly blessed to have 3 young men, one from the Iksan area, one from Myanmar, and one from Thailand, help us in this camp.  They were lots of fun, very dedicated, great workers with children, and a real blessing to us.

Even though this was an "English Camp" (English tutoring) the opportunity was used to teach songs such as Mercy is Falling, Deep Down in My Heart, and the B I B L E.  In addition to the daily Bible lesson, the children studied and acted out skits that included the story of the Good Samaritan and the story of the men bringing their friend to be let down through the roof to reach Jesus to be healed.

Photography Club
Each child had an opportunity to take photos of the other clubs, then review their work on the computer.   Some of these photos are the children's work.

Children earned play dollars by their participation in the activities,
which they enjoyed spending in the Dollar Shop.

The 3 lunches were American style grilled cheeseburgers, hot dogs,
and ham and cheese sandwiches.

Since the English Camp several of these children have attended our mission services for the first time.

Sorry we have been so long making a post, but you see we have been busy.  And, it may be an extended time before our next post, because on August 22 we leave for a 3 week visit to the USA to attend the General Assembly of The Church of God and to visit our children and grandchildren.

Yeah! You didn't miss camp at all! You just took camp to Korea! Awesome. Looking forward to seeing you at the Assembly. I know all those children will be missing you when you are gone, but I know your children and grandchildren here are anxious to see you too!

Hi, Eugene,
You two are doing a great work, and we, too, are praying for you. I've tried to send email, but gmail bounces my requests. Please check it out (as if you had any spare time) and let us know. Enjoy your brief time back in the states.
