Lunch at church
We have now been here in Iksan for 2 full weeks. We have settled into our home quite well, and are now busy getting ready for the teaching and ministry. Again Sunday we enjoyed the service and the fellowship.
Sunday is a fully used day at the church. After the worship service, the children and youth have their Sunday School lessons as the adult ladies are preparing the lunch. Of course, they have cooked the dishes before service.
These sweet ladies remind us of our aunts and grandmothers
After lunch, we went with Yang Hee, and one of the young ladies who speaks English to the new Outreach center, which was rented this week. We will not post photos until it has been transformed into a school and church. Our plan is to have the first service there Sunday afternoon, March 27. We expect Brother Dupre and Brother Hawkins to be our guests that afternoon. We are excited as we plan how to arrange the tables, chairs, white board, pulpit, piano, projector, screen, etc. We will continue to attend the Korean service Sunday morning and will have the English service at the new church Sunday afternoon. Brother Choe has invested a great amount of time and money preparing for the outreach works at this new center and also downtown Iksan.
English classes
These children from the church are learning English during afternoon classes in the fellowship hall.
Not exactly McDonalds or Taco Bell
Sidewalk sculptures
Just returned from Home Plus
We were excited to find many brands we recognize.
FINALLY - ICED TEA
Thanks to Hugh from the UK (pastor's son in law), we now have genuine iced tea. Yes - he probably thought he was providing us the classic British hot drink. We just adapted to meet our urgent need for the classic Southern cold drink.
Kitchen lesson for this week (learned after minor explosion in the toaster oven) - you must peel the plastic skin from the hot dog before placing it in the toaster oven. But it was a very good hot dog.
Birds singing and trees budding, but still cold
