Pastors Conference
Friday March 25, 2011
Iksan, South Korea
On Wednesday, March 23, Brother Ray Dupre and Brother Robert Hawkins arrived in Seoul from the meetings they had attended in the Phillipines with Brother Danilo M. Orcino. Thursday morning, Gene traveled by bus from Iksan to Seoul, met them, and accompanied them back to Iksan, approximately 100 miles. This - after Gene had been in Korea for only 23 days. Yes, we are familiar with the scripture "...the blind leading the blind...".
That evening, Sheila fixed an American meal of chicken tetrazinni, salad, and green beans. This was followed by fruit and homemade wedding cookies. Brother Choe, Sister Shin, and Hannah joined us for this meal. A little bit of a challenge cooking for 7 in 2 toaster ovens. Hannah definitely counted as number 7 - eating her share.
The conference began at 2 PM Friday in the local church. This is an annual conference that Brother Choe hosts for Interdenominational and independent pastors from the area. There were approximately 50 pastors and wives in attendance. Several were from the Seoul area and one from an island off the southern coast of S Korea. There were 2 pastors attending from China. After one hour of worship and a short break, Brother Dupre spoke challenging the pastors to live and preach "Ye must be born again". Brother Hawkins then preached on God's plan for marriage and God's view of divorce and remarriage. Both messages were preached with simple clarity and powerful anointing. Feedback indicated the messages were understood and well received by the hearers.
The singing by the mostly male audience was just beyond description. And when these men of God prayed in unison, the power could be felt and heard.
Brother DuPre and Dr Lee
Dr. Benjamin Lee, from Seoul was the interpreter for the Pastors Conference Friday and for the Revival services Saturday and Sunday for the local church congregation. He studied in the US, getting his Masters from the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest. He has traveled to more than 50 countries during more than 20 years as a missionary.

The conference concluded after 5 PM and several had to leave earlier to make the several hour trip back to their churches to be in the Friday evening service - actually the Friday night service.

Beautiful pictures and inspiring commentary. THANKS! We pray the seeds that were planted will find fertile ground in each one's hearts. I know I want MY heart to be good ground!
It was so nice to get to see you and visit with you yesterday. What a blessing Skype is!
You are the only woman I know (okay besides Sis. Smith) who could cook dinner for 7 in a toaster oven!
